Junior Surf

The aim of Junior Surf (also known as Nippers) is to encourage all children ages 5 through to 13 to have fun, participate safely and develop skills and confidence in surf life saving activities.

As children progress through these activities they learn about water safety issues and how to keep themselves safe near surf beaches.

Our club also provides fun days of activities in mixed age groups. These activities are designed to encourage everyone to take part and have a great time whilst enjoying friendly competition in a team setting.

Where conditions are suitable the senior club members demonstrate their front line rescue equipment with the children, e.g. take the children for rides in the IRB. On wet days we run an alternative programme focusing on beach and water safety, as well as rescue techniques for the older children.
