Waihi Beach & Katikati Excellence Awards

It was a fantastic evening celebrating the Waihi Beach & Katikati Excellence Awards and we’re thrilled to announce that Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services Inc was awarded Organisation of the Year

We’re honoured to receive this award, which is a recognition of all our members, volunteers, staff and local supporters who give their time, energy and commitment to help us achieve our goals. It’s the collective effort of so many people that makes Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services such an incredible asset to our community – we couldn’t be prouder of what we achieve together

It was a real privilege to be recognised alongside so many local people and organisations and we’d like to acknowledge our fellow finalist, Renaturing Katikati, who do such great work and are passionate about making a difference.

And what an especially proud moment for our team – our very own Andrew Cochrane took home the much-deserved Local Hero Award! Andrew’s dedication, commitment and contribution to our community is something we’re incredibly grateful for and this recognition is so well deserved. Congratulations Andrew!

We’d also like to give a huge well done to Cindy Clare, the other Local Hero finalist. We know first-hand how much mahi, time and energy Cindy gives to Waihi Beach. It’s really fantastic to see the people and organisations who give so much to our communities being celebrated and recognised.
